Ukraine sanctions Russian billionaires, political parties

MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- Ukraine has added seven Russian political parties, including the ruling United Russia party, and the wealthy Rotenberg family to the sanctions list, according to the relevant document released on President Pyotr Poroshenko’s website on Friday.

The list now includes the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), Rodina, the Democratic Party of Russia, the Agrarian Party of Russia, the Communist Party of Russia, and the Patriots of Russia.

Under the document, the parties’ assets on the territory of Ukraine should be blocked and capital withdrawal outside the country is prohibited.

Ukraine also sanctioned 11 individuals, including Russian businessmen Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, as well as Roman and Liliya Rotenberg.

The Central Election Commission with its head Ella Pamfilova were also sanctioned.
